Attendees at a CPD talk

A successful start to our CPD Talk series

Last week marked an exciting milestone for Brentwood Orthodontic & Implant Centre as we proudly hosted our very first CPD Talk for local dentists – and what a fantastic evening it was!

Led by our Practice Principal Dr. Nikhil Shah, the session, titled ‘Invisalign – Lows, Highs, Tips & Tricks’ welcomed dental professionals from across the local area to our Brentwood practice for an insightful learning experience.

With over 21 years based in Brentwood and more than a decade mentoring colleagues in the profession, Dr. Shah’s goal was clear – to give back to the local dental community by sharing practical, real-world knowledge in a relaxed and collaborative setting.

“This talk is just the beginning,” Dr. Shah shared. “We’re planning a series of sessions to support local dentists – from treatment advice to clinical mentoring – all with the aim of improving patient care across our community.”

The evening focused on maximising outcomes in Invisalign treatment – from managing complex cases to practical tips for improving aligner accuracy and patient compliance.

Attendees were taken through real case studies demonstrating the full potential of plastic aligners, even in challenging orthodontic situations. Dr. Shah also provided valuable guidance on case selection, helping general dental practitioners understand which treatments to manage themselves and when to refer to a specialist.

“It’s important for dentists to understand not just how to use Invisalign, but when and how to use it effectively,” said Dr. Shah. “This improves treatment outcomes for patients and supports more collaborative care across practices.”

Committed to supporting colleagues

The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciation for the practical advice and expanded understanding of what’s possible with modern aligner systems. The evening also served to clarify common misconceptions around orthodontic treatment and opened the door for further dialogue and case-based support.

Attendees were also treated to a delicious Indian dinner from a local caterer, and the event provided a great opportunity for networking among peers.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local colleagues, Dr. Shah will soon be launching dedicated clinical evenings, offering tailored advice on individual cases for general practitioners.

By sharing this knowledge, Brentwood Orthodontic & Implant Centre hopes to support dentists in making informed clinical decisions – ultimately enhancing patient care across the region.

“If dentists leave with a clearer idea of what they can treat confidently, and what might need specialist support, then we’re helping both practitioners and patients,” Dr. Shah concluded.
